Statement of Purpose
Mob is a social and play group for women and transfolk interested in BDSM and/or kink sexuality. We sponsor play parties and educational demonstrations, and get together to chat, hang out, have meals, shop, and otherwise socialize, have fun, and build a sense of community. We come together to affirm the things that turn us on mentally, physically, and spiritually. We claim as positive forces in our lives our many and varied interests in kink, bondage, domination and submission, sadomasochism, leather, and perversion, and seek to be a resource for other women and transfolk to do the same. Most of all, we resolve to have fun and laugh together, and to stubbornly maintain open minds.
We are passionately committed to diversity. We are women and transfolk of different races, ethnicities, class backgrounds, ages, sizes, and physical abilities, and we recognize, respect, and support these differences as sources of strength in our group. We include women and transfolk who identify as straight, bisexual, lesbian, pansexual, or just lecherous. Some of us are single, some are 'on the make'; others are partnered, monogamous, or poly-fidelous. Among our members are Femme Tops, Androgynous Subs, Wild Women, Butch Boys, Leather Grrl Switches, Packing Daddies, Pain Sluts, and Women of Questionable Morality. If you don't see yourself here, we probably just haven't met you yet.
Our primary goal as an organization is to create and protect a safe, stimulating environment for women and transfolk to meet, socialize and play. Therefore we promote the following:
- Safety. We make a continuing effort to be educated and aware of issues and techniques relating to both physical and emotional safety.
- Consensuality. Participation in play or any other activities at Mob events is strictly consensual.
- Discretion. Membership and participation in Mob events are confidential.
- Non-judgmental acceptance of differing styles of play and expression.
- Open communication and dialogue among members.
- Inclusiveness and openness towards newcomers.
